I'm changing my stars. I read the second story and that saved this book for me.

2 stars for the first story. That first story was terrible. This could've been a great story of second chances and old loves reconnecting but it fell short in so many ways. Toby's reasons for running away come down to the point that he didn't want to marry Susannah and that he didn't love her. He then comes back 10 years later and wants to make her his "secondhand wife" simply to clean up his messes and she accepts it? Please he wasn't in love with her 10 years ago and he wasn't in love with her 10 years later. There wasn't anything in this story that showed he loved her. Not once did that come up until the very end. How was the revelation made? He runs away and shortly marries another and then all of a sudden he has a revelation that he always loved her? Bull! That wasn't believable at all. Susannah was a stupid idiot for letting her emotions rule her and allowing him to just walk back into her life like old times and start kissing on her. Toby was able to glide through his problems and not once take responsibility for his actions. He was no hero and no man. Ugh! A story idea that had so much potential that it's so frustrating with the result.

The 2nd story I give 4 stars. Ben and Sally were a delight. I loved it when Sally ignored Ben and he didn't know how to act. Usually that happens when you ignore someone their feelings change. HA! I loved it. This story was wonderful and I enjoyed the kids, the grandmas and of course Ben and Sally. I actually loved the ending which is unusual for me. All in all it was a great read.

Excellent writer and book
First of all , I love Amish fiction and Marta Perry, so you won't be surprised to find out that I loved this book. I have read most of her books and I can't wait until the next book comes out.
I have grown to love Amish stories especially by Patricia David but I just discovered Marta Perry. She's a delightful writer. I can't wait for new books by both these authors.
Both of these stories show how God works in lives, even when we aren't looking for it or expecting it. While both stories were enjoyable to read, I would have to say the story by Paticia Davids captured my heart. I would definitely suggest reading both of these novellas.

These two stories were just wonderful! Sometimes you don't know what makes some stories better then others. I'm no writer but I know that I loved these. Ben and Sally were my favorite characters and I loved their adventures. I felt the snow coming down an the blizzard surrounding me. I felt close to these people. I can't say enough good things about this book so buy and enjoy it!
If you're looking for an entertaining story to read, this selection has two wonderful stories by a couple of master storytellers. I love Love Inspired romances because I don't just walk away having been entertained, I walk away with reminders of how loving and faithful God has been in my life, too.
