Lucky in Love Kasie West Books
If there’s one thing I adore it’s a fluffy contemporary read, and "Lucky in Love" is no exception. As cute (if not more so) as its outward appearance would suggest, West strikes gold (and plenty of good luck) in her latest novel. Bubbly and bright, happy and hip, "Lucky in Love" is the kind of novel one wants to read over the hot, humid and hazy summer days.“Magic cannot be explained. It can only be experienced.” - Kasie West
Not only is the writing practically perfect (more on this later on), the characters also sparkle. From Maddie’s tender albeit mature heart to Seth’s swoony (*ahem* secret) crush on the girl, these two are adorable. What gives their relationship even more interest and good vibes is the setting. I enjoyed reading a story about two people working at a zoo. It lent vibrancy and a unique sense of “place” to the already darling tale. Some of the story does fall into some of the common tropes, but if you’re anything like me, this will be an incentive rather than any form of annoyance.
As I alluded to earlier on, Kasie’s writing is fantastic. Every one of her novels (I’ve now read four in total) have this kind of special, enticing energy a reader cannot ignore. This kind of storytelling and writing makes it impossible for a reader to put her books down. "Lucky in Love" refuses to break this streak. It’s the perfect balance between sweet and emotional. Her stylistic writing makes this a page-turning romcom that just might make its reader cry at the turn of a final page. (Tears that are only of the happy sort.)
Witty but weighty, West’s words flow with ease and effortless charm on these pages. Her novels are the kind I’d wish to write not only because they are wonderful, but also they’re surface adorable yet look closer, and you’ll discover so much more. All this to say, "Lucky in Love" is perfect from start to finish, imperfections and all. It’s a winner of a story with winning characters who possess hearts of gold. ♥

Lucky in Love Kasie West Books Reviews
This was a read that felt more real for me even though the lottery win was a bit far-fetched. The characters had an edge and bite to them much like real life. It was good to see this with not just the main characters but all the secondary ones too. I felt like this was a well-rounded story and I enjoyed it. I can see why other readers didn't like this book as much as West's other books and I'll admit I started to go there too with my rating. However, after thinking about it more I liked that this was a more complicated West YA while still following her style.

Happy reading!!
I am a huge Kasie West fan. I read anything she puts out and usually it's a first edition. So I was all about this new story. Unfortunately it fell a bit short for me.
The story follows a girl who is super smart and knows all the facts. On a depressed whim she buys a lottery ticket and actually wins. What happens next is what I would imagine would happen to any high schooler who wins the lottery.
While I enjoyed the premise and the cute interactions of the love interest it seemed to focus more on the problems and her inner monologue. Still a good read for those who enjoys West's books but definitely not my favorite.
This is probably my least favorite Kasie West book to date. But, with that being said, still recognize I gave it 5-stars. While not my favorite, it is still classic Kasie West. Tons of heart, tons of fluff, tons of sweetness. Honestly, I just love anything Kasie writes. Her books are a rarity and so necessary to get me through my reading list. With all the other books I read, it is wonderful to step away from the hard-core epic fantasies and just read something that will make me feel good and restore my hope in humanity. End of story.

As soon as the h became "lucky," I read the book with so much dread. I found myself rushing through, not for a good part, but to get the sick feeling over with. For a brainiac, our girl was so naive, and so was so worried for others she shouldered her burdens alone. The "big misunderstanding" was fine. I feel the ending was rushed with all conflicts resolved within a few pages. The nerd love was very sweet. I would have been really disappointed had I spent the list price for this book, as it wasn't worth it. This is not Kasie West's finest.
Kasie West is one of the very few authors whose books I'll purchase without even reading the synopsis. Seriously, I've liked everything of hers I've ever read. Her books are the perfect length for a quick afternoon read, fluffy enough to relax for a bit, but with enough meat to actually keep me interested in the romance and characters.
Lucky in Love follows the antics of Maddie, a high school girl who won multi millions of dollars in the lottery. It was a little painful to read the middle portion of the book where she's (predictably) taken advantage of for her newfound money and flounders a bit as to what to do with it. While aspects of Maddie's character were relateable, she's not my favorite Kasie West character ever. I will say, Seth annoyed me a bit at the beginning, but grew on me by the end of the story.
Would definitely recommend all of Kasie West's contemporary books, especially The Distance Between Us, On The Fence, and By Your Side. Looking forward to more!!
